“If you build it, they will come.”  Only worked in the movie.  When developing a web site for your brand, you need to do your home work.  The very first step in SEO is a keyword analysis.  This lays the foundation to the onsite SEO for a website.  The keyword analysis will be used in the website content, anchor text, title tags, meta keywords, alt tags and H1 descriptions to maximize the web sites visibility with search engine spiders.

Once the website is built, you need to start your offsite SEO efforts to draw traffic and increase your search engine visibility and ranking.  There are several offsite SEO activities that need to be initiated and maintained.  The Internet is an every evolving entity and it is important to evolve with it.  To do this, these efforts need to be done.

  • Search Engine and Directory Submissions
  • Backlinks (websites linking back to your site)
  • Social Media (Blog, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Internet Publishing (press releases, articles, white papers, etc.)
